What is a role?

A role is an access control profile that is associated with a role someone plays in business. A role can describe Service, Doc Type, Field and Doc-level permissions in its policies.

What is an admin?

A user with all permissions to do anything within an organization. An admin’s responsibility is to design Roles and Services for their users (Collaborators and Bots).

What is a collaborator?

A non-admin user that is granted access to data through the policies of their assigned roles. Collaborators login and manage data with the browser.

What is a bot?

A non-admin user that is granted access through assigned roles, like collaborators, but login through API keys.

What is a doc?

A collection of Doc Types that can create links between each other to form relationships. Any changes to Doc Types are batched in a service revision.

What is a doc type?

A collection of field definitions composed with primitives. Doc Types can create relationships between each with link fields.

What is a service?

A unit of customer data with references to a Doc Type, whose structure defines what kind of fields are present.

What is a primitive?

Fundamental building block representing an archetype for a specific data point. Primitives are composed by Doc Types to describe their data structure.
